Week 3 – Ground Strike, Leg Grabs & Guard

It is once again Week 3 of the Gracie Barra Curriculum!

The Gracie Barra Fundamentals Class A will start with the Double Leg takedown in the Self Defense portion. The Sport Jiu-Jitsu part of the class will be focused on the Guard Top position. We will start by covering two different passes. First opening the Guard with the Elbow, followed by the one arm under pass. Our GB1 Drill will put together opening, passing, mounting & a mount escape. Partners will take turns working through the drill. We will finish with specific training from Guard.

Class B will work on the single-leg during the Self-Defense portion. The Sport Jiu-Jitsu part of class will work on the sleeve control pass, & knee slice pass. The GB1 Drill will be the same as Class A. We will finish with a similar specific training as Class A.

Our GB1 All-Levels Class A will start with a Double Leg Takedown. Sport Jiu-Jitsu will cover breaking the guard, one arm under pass, & will finish with the Americana Submission from Side-Control. Our GB1 Drill will be the same as Fundamentals.

GB1 All-Levels Class B will start with a Single-Leg Takedown. Sport Jiu-Jitsu will cover breaking guard, a double under pass to side control & a Kimura Submission from Side-Control.

The GBK Kids classes will learn a similar takedown as the Adults Fundamentals class. Starting out Class A with a Double-Leg Takedown followed by the one arm under pass to side control. Class B will cover a Single Leg Takedown & a double under pass to side control. Classes will finish with the specific training of the Professors choice.
